Location: Work remotely or from our offices in Brooklyn or Oakland

United for Respect (UFR) and WorkIt are seeking a Senior Digital Organizing Trainer & Strategist to support strategic organizing campaigns (utilizing UFR’s online-to-offline model) and the rollout of our digital organizing platform, WorkIt, with partners.

About WorkItWorkIt is our proprietary digital platform that leverages machine learning to provide immediate support to people in low-wage jobs who are struggling to understand and assert their rights under the law and navigate corporate policies. WorkIt is available in both English and Spanish and can be downloaded directly through Google Play or iTunes to ask any question about workplace policy or rights via a simple chat interface to receive immediate, easy-to-understand advice and support.

Senior Digital Organizing Trainer & Strategist will be responsible for: 

  • Build the capacity of partners to leverage WorkIt as an organizing & advocacy tool

  • Provide strategic support on the growth, reach and downloads for WorkIt for partners i.e. how do partners get WorkIt in the hands of constituents / target audiences

  • Managing organizing experiments with partners to increase user engagement within the WorkIt app

  • Facilitating two-day online to offline organizing trainings for United for Respect, including trainings on WorkIt implementation for partner organizations 

  • Managing email list to clients and partners of UFR and WorkIt to provide ongoing updates about our work

  • Cultivating the network of WorkIt partners to share learnings and best practices for using the WorkIt platform as an organizing tool 

  • Writing and maintaining updates to website

  • Providing strategic campaign support to UFR and WorkIt clients

  • Write copy and launch ads on social media sites (Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc…)

  • Developing ongoing resources and best practices for organizing approaches in collaboration with partners. 


  • At least 5 years’ experience working for progressive political campaigns, non-profit organizations or unions

  • 1 year of project or program management experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to economic and social justice and worker or community leadership

  • Deep understanding of the principles of organizing 

  • Familiarity with digital tools and it’s application to organizing including but not limited to peer to peer texting, broadcast texting, Facebook and Twitter

  • Excellent facilitation skills

  • Experience creating and conducting technical trainings and ability to breakdown technical jargon for a non technical audience

  • An ability to juggle multiple projects at a time and work in a fast-paced environment

  • A demonstrated commitment to meeting high standards and a history of getting things done even in the face of obstacles

  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and a commitment to contribute to a positive work environment

  • Quick to learn new technologies and experience with social media tools and campaigns

  • Ambition, drive, energy, and the ability to work flexible and long hours when necessary

  • You understand and can articulate issues facing communities of color, women, and low-and moderate-income families

  • Spanish language skills preferred but not required

  • Significant travel required. 

Salary range is $65,000-85,000 dependent on experience and location. Excellent health coverage and other competitive benefits
